Rally to Support the Muslim Community
When a group campaigns to prevent a Religious Community from being reflected on the public airwaves "because the show profiles only Muslims that appear to be ordinary folks" we are called to stand in solidarity with the Muslim community. We are called to express our belief that no group should be targeted for exclusion from the public airwaves. When business and corporations respond to this exclusionary campaign by withdrawing funding for a program which seeks to shed light on the Muslim community, we are called to take a public stand of disapproval for such business decisions. Thus, we are called to make a statement to Lowe's Home Improvement Stores that withdrew advertising for "All American Muslim"
We are part of an interfaith group that organized the interfaith gathering at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton on 9/11/11. On Thursday January 26, 2012 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. we will be at Lowe's Home Improvement Center to make our statement for freedom of speech for ALL AMERICANS. Lowes is located at 21870 State Road 7 in Boca Raton at the corner of Palmetto Park Road and State Road 7.
This is the month in which we commemorate the life of Martin Luther King. We echo his sentiments that we are all inextricably bound in a single garment in history. As Americans, we cherish the diversity and understanding of others that makes our country great.
Join us on January 26 in solidarity with the Muslim community. “All American Muslim” shows a peaceful side of Islam which is often overlooked. Help to express our belief that no religious group should be targeted for exclusion from the public airwaves. Signs will be provided or bring your sign to help make our statement.
